This Waste Management Site in Lincoln is the inaugural project in a series aimed at reducing electricity costs across four distinct sites. Initiated by the company's desire to slash energy expenses, this project demonstrated the significant savings achievable through innovative technology and strategic implementation.
The planning phase involved rigorous coordination, including multiple site visits, frequent communication via phone and emails with the contracts manager, and careful logistical planning. This meticulous approach was crucial, especially given the operational challenges of a live waste management site. We navigated these by deploying a systematic walkway and barrier system to ensure the safety of both personnel and ongoing operations.
The technological backbone of the project featured advanced solar energy systems, including a Solis 30kW inverter and a Solis 10kW hybrid inverter paired with a 14.1kW battery storage system. These were complemented by 80 Canadian Solar 545W panels, optimizing the site’s energy production and consumption efficiency. This setup not only enhanced the site’s sustainability but also ensured significant reductions in energy use, particularly overnight.
The financial outcome of this installation has been overwhelmingly positive, projecting annual electricity savings between 60% to 75%. Such substantial reductions validate the investment into these technologies, proving that the financial benefits significantly outweigh the initial costs.
